Compressor Tank Leak

I have an old horizontal compressor that has sprung a leak in the bottom of the tank. I'm guessing this is pretty dangerous - like a time bomb! I guess I could pull the big plug and drop a camera in to verify, but I'm betting it is just rusted through since it is the very bottom of the tank. Are there any easy/cheap ways to fix it or just time for a new tank and/or compressor?

I agree with your assumption that it's rusted and likely unsafe. I'd worry about patching it, since there are probably other thin spots.

New tank if you can find one, or replacement is my vote.

I've seen some decent-looking options on KSL before, non-working compressor with a good tank....that might be an option?
