Science and knowledge change with ongoing research (I have had veterinary specialists teach me something completely opposite of what the same person taught me 15 years before. It is progress, not hypocrisy. )
And while Corona viruses have been studied for years (there are hundreds if not thousands of them), COVID-19 was unknown.

I think we all understand that. What we are talking about is that there are many accredited doctors and researchers speaking out against what fauci had been dictating and they were all silenced by the swift hand of social media and other outlets.

If you read the emails, you'll notice that zuckerberg was conversing with fauci about silencing dissenting opinion. How is that "scientific"?

I have always had trust issues with authority figures and I always will. Fauci is just a white coat politician with investments to gain.

Over the last year I have applied basic logic using my schooling and experience in the lab and medical field to what was being said and it just did not jive with me. I would read things from both sides and I could not get past some of what I felt was propaganda and scare techniques. Fauci was flip flopping without citing any true scientific data.....just I/we believe. It was known early on who the high risk population was, but yet there was a push to shut everything down. It seems like when you are conversing with a social media giant who blatantly censors one sides message about censoring what is being said, you are turning this into a political tool. There is no hiding the fact that Facebook was all in to try and influence the election and they 110% were balls deep in this one to hurt DJT's re-election. To anybody that thinks it is all BS, I will bet a 12 pack of your favorite Bewilder brew that there are going to be a lot of "conspiracy theories" be made true over the next six months.

Just listen to what you are being told and move on my little flock.

Your scientific training and experience doesn't count because your data points to the wrong side. That is my problem will all of this.

I'll say this again. Faucci said masks aren't effective against COVID in Februaryish, as seen in one of these emails, but also in many press interviews. He later admitted publicly that he knew at the time he made that statement, that masks were effective but didn't want the public to make a run on them. How do you defend that? How do you trust a person that admits they lied to manipulate your behavior. I don't care if it's for the greater good, you sacrificed your integrity for that and now it's gone. You can't sacrifice it and retain it.

I seem to recall making this EXACT argument the last time I posted in this thread as a rebuttal to some of your commentary.

And for the record at the very beginning of the pandemic the CDC told EVERYONE that N95 masks were the only masks that were effective at all. They even posted their testing videos on YouTube.

In my opinion Dr. Fauci lost all credibility as a medical professional when he figured out he could get more attention as a sound byte arguing with Trump.

Brother, you have been beating the same drum for nearly 15 months. When are you going to learn?

My stance has changed. So has my tolerance for BS. I'll go ahead and admit, I bought right in in the beginning not because I thought we were all going to die, I saw the opportunity in the panic. I thought I could help and make money since the government was shutting down and hijacking all my product.

I set up a business prior to the shutdown and worked 16-18 even 20-hour days some days selling masks, ppe, and chemicals (which I'd already been doing). I read information on both sides and chose to sell masks. We sold them to nearly every state. But I was conflicted and became more so as the shutdown progressed.

I knew full well about fit testing N95s and it seemed odd/conflicting that we were marketed so hard to wear coverings that went counter to that. I'd love to say anyone with simple medical knowledge saw through his BS. But they got pressured so hard because what he and others were pushing. FIT testing for N95’s has been standard practice for years to protect healthcare workers, first responders, etc, and all of a sudden putting a cloth napkin on our face works? GTFOH!

He also said a lot of fear-based marketing that lead to the vaccine being the answer, which you can go right back a number of years and see his "pandemic playbook" where he lays it out.

Marketing isn't science, we should all understand that but marketing is now, quite possibly, more powerful than science... especially when guys like Fauci (who represent leading professional advice) use fear-based marketing so expertly.

Some of these emails are pretty telling about his character because at the same time he's typing one thing, he's saying something different on network news.

Honestly. This topic had gotten beaten to death. There appear to be 2 sides and hardly in between anymore.

It honestly saddens me how ****ed up, we as a nation have become. I don't know where it started....sometime before Obama but really took hold the past 12 years. No one really looks at the other side. They find "facts" to back their claim and pretty much refuse to be objective.

I've made my position clear about this topic and it differs from many of the people on here and many in the 4wheel community. I have learned that I am not like most of the 4wheelers I interact with on these forums. I am also learning rhat apparently I have an extremely hard time relating to much of the Republican party anymore (I've always been Libertarian or right leaning center) however I look at how things like this topic, the 2020 election and how so many Republicans can still idolize Trump so much and I am amazed and disheartened.

I dont know why I posted this but I guess I realize that people on the right are looking for a conspiracy and finding any tidbit of "proof" to back it up and it has made.me want to start to disassociate with those people. The problem is the stuff I enjoy seems to be forums full of these people. I already feel isolated with few friends but even many of my internet friends are driving me away.

@Pike2350 I completely understand where you're coming from. I've removed myself over the last several years from all social media. This forum is the only place I post anything on line at this point, and I've even found myself steering away from that at times. I've made a concerted effort to make sure that I don't allow political BS to have an effect on personal relationships, but in today's age it's hard to even do that. My Dad, who I've talked to almost every day of my life, has allowed his anger at politics to almost completely remove himself from his family. If I can get 5 minutes out if him in 2 months it's a miracle. It's just not worth it.
@Houndoc we have been going back and forth for some time on here. We probably won't see eye to eye, but please know that if there is ever anything that I can do to help you with anything I will do it gladly. We are still members of the same community (both where we live and our enjoyment of the off-road community).

I would like to think that most of us share that same mindset, but we very quickly loose sight of that at times and don't always express it.

It is very unfortunate, and frustrating to me, that the pandemic and response was and continues to be, political. Never should have been the case. And worse that it then spills over into friendships.
