I was just curious for reference/comparison. I don’t know what to believe when it comes to 1410 yoke vs flange max angle. Stoopud Internet. I can get 30 with my yokes but people say 27* is max without a flange or double cardan.

I can’t really tell by your pictures but did you offset the bore center for the u bolts?

I just measured the yoke on the flange side and its at 25* right now at droop. I was happy to use the gm tail housing with the gm 205 as it is a few inches longer thant the dodge setup and i knew it would help with the drive line angles. I despise double cardan joints.

Yes they are offset bore which is i why i have them in my mill getting plunge cut with a end mill. They are offset to where the end mill just kisses the threads on the one side.

Rear drive line is all done and assembled. i replaced all the ujoints with some greaseable spicers ones and installed a new carrier bearing.

I had to make a different carrier bearing mounting plate as the carrier bearing ended up being less than an inch further back and i didn't fell like having to lengthen the long shaft to get it to the stock spot. This allowed me to cut a clearance void in the plate so the drive shaft wasn't so close to the plate. i cut the new plate out of 3/8" the old one was 1/4".

I was able to bend the plate to get the perfect straight carrier drive line angle off the tcase.

The d/s rear had a loos brake drum. After pulling the hub it appears that some one changed the wheel studs and the studs had a slightly longer shoulder for the brake drum that would allow the drum to be loos after the studs splines where fully bottomed out so i cut out a spacer out of some 14 guage and that tightened the drum to the hub.

Heres part of the clutch retro fit i did. I used the 2 gen hydraulic clutch master cylinder. It goes into a square hole and then turns 90* locking it in. I cut a plate with a square hole and bolted to the fire wall in roughly the spot where the 1st gen cummins trucks have them. It was then offset from the clutch pedal so i made this stud to connect the linkage together. The best part is the the clutch pedal already had the right sized hole drilled in the exact spot i needed.

I had to straighten this front x member. Some one had hooked a chain to it at some time and waded up the one corner pretty bad and torn out the rivets.

Im trying to track down a more straight grill bezel so i can finish the core support sides. Im just going to cut up the factory core support ends where they bolt to fender and welded them to my steel plate box on the sides. they will secure the fender and hold the lights in the factory spots.

Please enlighten us about the older gentleman in your picture, I love those stories. Good progress

Hes the crazy old loner guy that has came around my house for the last 8 years. We call him crazy tom, he refers to him self as C Tom. Hes 70 years old but has the spirit of a 25 year old kid. If you love stories you should hear his. From desert storm, to CIA, to NSA, to flying F22s, to being good friends with HRC before she was evil, to teacher, to government contract pilot, to fighting cops, to stealing cars. I like his crazy ass stories and he is full of tons of useful knowledge. Hes has a very keen eye to notice details or problems that i put on par with myself. He has a 2015 ss Comaro, a 2003 6 speed dirty max with 26k miles, a 1976 Comaro and a bunch of other neat cars but likes to drive the shittest 4 door Saturn i have ever seen. Hes knows a ton about old cars and old car parts and is an open book full of questions about anything and everything and everyone. Hes quite the chatter box. He is a certified hoarder but its okay because he has the property in the sticks and he aint hurting anyone. I invite him to Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner and take him to the lake with us all summer. Hes been in our buggies rock crawling a few times and is looking forward to me having a two seater again. He usually snow birds at his Cali home for a few months and he is missed. I only feel comfortable telling anyone this because im completely blunt with how i handle him and he is the same to me.

I finished up the cab floor repairs. I wire wheeled anything loose and then painted any rust with some left over por15 I had and then painted the rest with some left over rustoleum from my plasma table. I then installed some sound deadening tarfoil stuff doubling it up around fire wall and tranny tunnel. Austin had some foam tinfoil stuff laying around so installed that too and then the new carpet kit.
