Damn bro! I was going to be a smart ass and say were you trying to do what the SXS guys were doing to 'break in' the new build?

Noticed the wheel seal was dripping and then noticed wheel looked canted. Spindle is bent. We tore it apart and barely got the shaft out. I scavenged another spindle from my axle pile and cleaned it up on the lathe. I then molested the caliper bracket with a angle grinder and a hammer. 20201008_181705.jpgreceived_763127697580137.jpeg20201016_224910.jpg20201016_224923.jpg20201016_212528.jpg20201016_223554.jpg20201016_222712.jpg20201016_222703.jpg

I got the spindle all changed and back together. When i was about to put the ring gear back in i noticed the bottom of the diff housing was dented, not cracked surprisingly just dented which is odd for nodular iron. It was dented between the pinion and the bottom of the shave plate i welded on. Its not very thick there as it was originally just a oil galley and normally on the top side of the axle(This 14b is flipped upside down, rear engine and all). I went ahead and welded a leaf spring on it and a small piece on the bottom of my shave plate. The shave plate was just 1/2 mild steel and it had some impressive gouging in it. I figured the harder leaf spring will slid more better and not gouge as easy so long as the welds dont crack.

Next was the new radiator. The old one was pretty beat to hell from years of abuse. It had been overheated enough times that the tubes had ovaled out restricting air flow. Im not sad that the wreck finished it off. This go around i went with a dual pass elcheapo one from summit. I fabricated some channels that i welded between the tanks in hopes of keeping the core together more better.

I Harveyed the brand new radiator. Luckily i was able to weld it up. I also sent the last mosquito of the season back to hell. 123253037_801788227060016_1365620551836406648_n.jpg123007357_387504899108296_6608933489235207631_n.jpgThe old one was exposed and appears to of picked up a few rocks from time to time. 123107101_3559053850821173_162285586674500422_n.jpg

I cut out 3 of the 6 spokes.
