Shop / Tools Do not buy this welding wire

So about 6 months ago I bought some cheap welding wire at SSS steel. It was stupid cheap. I finally swapped it into my machine a couple weeks ago. Every single weld has cracked since I put this wire in the machine. I've never had that happen. It's like trying to weld cast iron.

I ground this weld down to make sure it was a crack I was looking at.

I always buy the 45 pound spool from airgas and then when I run out on sundays I have ran cal ranch wire without issue although cal ranch is pricey

I've just been using spools from Amazon...I think "Blue Demon" is what I have now. Zero problems so far. (running .030 if that makes any difference)

UNSTUCK

But stuck more often.
Hobart brand has always ran well for me. My son works at Norco now, so he hooked me up on the big spool this time. It'll probably last me 4 years.

Doesn't matter how long it lasts, it's guaranteed to run out on a Friday night at 11pm when you HAVE to get the job done for the next morning and there is no one open to buy more from.
