Why wife brought home 2 while pineapples so I decided to get creative and smoke one. I made a glaze out of brown sugar, honey, and butter to smear on each piece.

It turned out super sweet and tender, but there was so much juice the glaze didn’t work. Either way it was freaking delicious!

Are at the philadelphian a month ago. Good but agree that the hygiene of the place could use some work. Always let the deep fried mushrooms cool down before eating 🔥🔥🔥
You should have seen it years ago before they cleaned up the place haha.

Chuck roasts on! Also found a good smoker hack. My grease bucket would fall off in a windstorm or sometimes when I took the cover off. Binder clip and we will see if it works

I had a bunch of tri-tip steaks that needed to be cooked, and a few seasonings that needed to be tested.

1st row was rubbed with Kinders Butter steakhouse rub. It was pretty good especially if your looking for a savory flavor with little else to cover the flavor of the meat.

3rd row was Kinders Prime steakhouse rub. This was our favorite since it had a bit more bold flavoring.

2nd row is something you may not believe… it’s the cheese from a Mac n cheese box. Just rub the steak and cook as usual. It was freaking DELICIOUS!! Seriously try it!

I also smoked up 4 pineapples rubbed with brown sugar and cinnamon topped with butter. No pictures since I ate it so fast ha ha 776D03D5-6ACC-4C6D-B9A2-D98B7D63F6F7.jpeg

Not food, but I got this for free yesterday. $2400 new. They said it was tripping the breaker, hoping it’s something simple. This thing is a tank! It weighs 335 lbs.

If I can get it working I may need to retire my traeger. According to Yoder’s website, this thing can get up to 700°!

I talked to Nate about his Yoder when I was super interested in one. He doesn’t love it. Hopefully you can figure out what is the problem. I know they put out a new controller recently. Maybe gut it and replace with new components and to you will still be $$$$& a head.

If not I’ll take it off your hands lol

interesting, I was under the impression they were pretty great, but I’ve never met anybody in person with one.

I’m gonna tear into it and see what’s up, I don’t necessarily want to put a lot of money into it. If it needs something major, and I’m not gonna spend the money to fix it, I’ll pass it to you!

I like my yoder well enough but tend to cook on a regular grill most of the time. I think its a mix of free time and needing to get dinner on the table. When I do smoke though its been great. Mine is the YS640S which has the new controller and came with two probes. Those have been nice to have built in.

I managed to wrangle Dave and Carl into helping me get it from the garage and on to my back deck. It would have been pretty tough to handle on my own.

That’s what I got, a 640s. The lady that gave it to me was nice enough to suggest wheeling it through her multimillion dollar house instead of having to fight it down the stairs.

What year is yours? The one I picked up is stamped 2017, so I’m wondering when the new controller was introduced.
