Extreme Scrambler Makeover

You've all seen the show on TV, well, I couldn't have been more surprised on Feb 2nd when the Jeep version happened to me.

Here's how it started...for me anyway.

Here's some pics of what went on behind the scenes. I can't even begin to do this project justice, but I'll try.

The plotting and planning began last August...Apparently Russ and BC were examining the falling-off fenders of the Freakshow after the U4 trailride in Richfield and said, "We gotta do something..." Then BC mentioned it to Bart...and Bart took the bull by the horns (you know how Bart is!) He gathered up 20 or so fellow conspiritorial do-gooders and began scheming.

The culprits were first going to stretch a YJ, but then found a couple scramblers. Bart eventually found a sweet frame and tub in Long Beach. It even had a full cage and FANGS! SF drove it up from SoCal, and Scott drove down to meet him in Vegas. Remember that nasty storm just after Christmas that later nailed Denver??? Ya, that one...

Nah, if that were the case it would have been running when he got it. :D

Since Brett wont ask, if anyone wants to lend a hang getting this thing on the road (pre-EJS), any assistance would be greatly appreciated!!

I'd say it was more like Overhaul'n, what with the lies and subversion. ;)

I love fixing up scramblers and can even bring some spare parts, send me a PM and I'll come help.

That would be great! I've been gathering some materials for the front bumper and motor mounts. I'll be there from 8 to noon on Saturday.

Continuing the Pre-presentation chronology: Here's a couple pics from work parties at Ian's RedJeepClub.com headquarters.

Where would Ian's RedJeepClub headquarters be located ? Do I need to drive my red jeep ?

After they prepped the body, BC went to work on the paint. Marc and Todd tried to make the hood work, but then Santa "Big Sarge" Claus came to the rescue with a new hood.

They wondered if they should paint it...and EZ pointed out that if they didn't, I probably never would.

How did they know what color?

Simple.

They baited me on the jeep-slc list. Like taking candy from a baby.

Marc, Bart, Ian and others pretended to talk about good jeep colors, and I chimed right in as predicted. They took my response and decided on a beautiful 1970 Barracuda Sublime Green. They nailed it.
