It seems like we have been pretty relaxed about enforcing the rules concerning how RME operates for the last couple years. This has been a good thing because it means 95% of our members are being respectful and friendly with their interactions here.

Some people have been taking advantage of this, lacking respect for the other members and are pushing their luck lately. I just wanted to post up and remind the small percentage of users who aren't aware of how things work around here.

First off, READ!! Read the rules, especially if you are new! The classifieds are a major draw to RME. If you wish to use them PLEASE read the Classifieds Rules and then follow them. If your ad was deleted, look at the rules and see if you did something you should/should not have done. The rules are there to help you and the other members with the transaction, not punish or hurt you.

Secondly, if a Moderator asks you to change something, be respectful and do so. Try to understand why you are being asked to make a change and DO NOT second-guess the Mod! If you cop an attitude, you will be told to leave. Not asked, TOLD! DO NOT ARGUE WITH AN ADMIN OR MODERATOR!! Their decision is final, no questions asked.

Lastly, all of us are here for a reason. Most of us are here for fun, information, friends, knowledge and in general, a good time. Please be respectful to the other members with your interactions here. Being disrespectful on RME will get you nowhere. This is a very tight-knit community, at one point or another you will probably run into other members out on the trail. Keep that in mind as you sit at your computer and type out your thoughts.

Here's the Rules & Guidelines... read them, follow them. If you cannot follow them, please find another place on the internet to spend your time, otherwise we will gladly help you find the door out.

Our General Principles

We expect that all members of RME will behave in a way that’s conducive to the diversity, intelligence and respectfulness of the community. Each of these three general principles is fundamental to the quality of our site.

Diversity... We’re a community from different backgrounds and with different perspectives on sports and life. At all times, we expect our members to respect that.

Intelligence... We’re a community with quality standards and expect our members will make a sincere effort to contribute their thoughts on interesting subjects in a meaningful and respectful manner. Posting messages and otherwise interacting on RME is completely optional; many members often prefer to just read what others have to say. But if you do post, we expect that you’ll be respectful of the time of others by posting meaningfully.

Respectfulness... We expect our member to show respect for others. Respecting their person, their views, their time and their opinions ... even if you disagree with them.

Basic Guidelines

The following eight categories of online conduct are unacceptable at RME and constitute a violation of our Community Standards which may result in warning, suspension or loss of membership:

Harrassment... Harassment occurs when a member insults, attacks, and denigrates another member at any time. We have zero tolerance for taking an argument about a any topic to a personal level. For instance, the use of terms such as "idiot, moron, stupid" and other derogatory terms constitutes harassment. Repeated critical and sharply negative posts toward a forum member can also constitute harassment.

Disruption... Posts which intend to disrupt the topic of conversation or steer the topic away from the focus of the forum and related news. Disruption can include harassment, multiple posting of the same post and posting completely off topic messages.

Vulgarity and Sexual Explicitness... As a community with a diverse variety of members and readers, we ask that our members to post without using vulgarity. Vulgarity not only includes vulgar language and pictures but also sexist, racist, anti-religious and homophobic language which may offend other members. In addition, the "masking" of vulgarity by inserting * or another keystroke in place of one or more letters in a vulgar term is unacceptable in most cases. We realize that there's a "grey area" of judgement with vulgarity but we ask that you'll respect others by avoiding vulgarity.

Solicitation... RME provides opportunities for non-commercial entities to advertise items for sale in the classifieds forums. Shops and other commercial entities are welcome to advertise their services through the RME vendor program. Out of respect for those vendors supporting RME, commercial entities not participating in the vendor program have no rights to post anything related to their business in any forum, profile, avatar, or signature. Finally, if you have a Site you would like to submitted for the 'Links' forum, contact me.

Spamming... Spamming is the multiple posting of an identical or similar post on one or more of our Forums.

Copyrighted Material... You may post links to appropriate articles but posting articles from other sources in their entirety is a violation of our Community Standards. Use your best judgement, since you agree in the Terms of Use to be held legally responsible for your own posts on this system, but if you must repost quotes or sentences, please credit the source.

Rating Level... Keep all Pictures & Attachments, Conversations and Language at a PG-13 level. Anything beyond PG-13 will be deleted!

Images in Avatars & Signatures...No 'girly' pics will be tollerated in Avatars. Keep your Avatars related to wheelin'. Also, large Images in signatures will be removed. Small Images, related to wheelin' are OK.

Rules pertaining to 4x4 Shops & Businesses-

*Commercial ads belong in the Vendors Forums, please keep your posts offering parts or services in the correct forum.

*Commercial Ads posted outside the Vendors Forum will be deleted! There are a many members of RME representing local 4x4 shops. We do not allow posts offering 'custom work' or parts, unless a member asks for help, your shop can provide the work or part and you are a paying vendor.

If you have questions about 4x4 Shops and Advertising, PM or Email me.

Again, disregard to the Guidelines and Principles of Rocky Mountain Extreme.com may result in the Suspension or Banning of your Membership. Please, think before you Post!

Please bear in mind that these are only guidelines; there is always a "grey area" and we understand that. Use your best judgment. If you have any questions, I will be more than happy to answer them. Thank you for your time and willingness to contribute and I'll see you on the Trail!

And the Classifieds Rules and Guidelines-

RME said:
RME Classified Ads - Rules and Guidelines By posting or replying to a classified ad on RockyMountainExtreme.com, you agree to all of the terms and conditions stated below. Failure comply will result in any action deemed appropriate by the moderators and administrators of RockyMountainExtreme.com

The classified ads are open to registered members of Rocky Mountain Exteme.com (RME). If you are not a registered member, please take the time by clicking here to Register. It's free and only takes a few minutes. Failure to follow the posted rules will result in deletion of your classified ad at any time without any warning. Other violations may result in a warning, infraction, and/or ban from RME. Terms of such violations are to be freely interpreted by the administrator or moderator without further dispute. If a moderator asks you to change, move, or delete a post and the request is not handled promptly, the ad(s) will be deleted without notice.

DO:

* Post your real [first] Name and Contact information (Email, Phone #, etc). Last names may be omitted due to the publice nature of advertising on RME.

* Include a PRICE and a LOCATION. If you are unsure of the price, list your high price and add "Or Best Offer". It is up to you and the potential buyer to come to an agreement on price.

* Give a decent description of your item(s) and be HONEST about the condition. Failure to post pertinent information will result removal of your ad!

* Post Photos of your item(s) [recommended]. Posting photos is a sure way to get serious buyers and not waste time. People will ask for photos anyways, so post them when you make the thread.

* When your item(s) are sold, follow up by either deleting the ad or posting "SOLD" in your thread.

* If you suspect fraud or illegal activity in any person's ad, please report it to a Moderator and it will be investigated. However, please refrain from posting your suspicion in the ad.

DO NOT:

* Do Not post a similar item(s) in somebody else's Ad! Competing in somebody else's ad is not tolerated. Make your own thread.

* Do Not Cross-Post your Ad. Posting the same ad in different sections is not tolerated and will result in deletion of both ads.

* Do Not post FEELER ADS. They are stupid and will be deleted. If you want to sell and item, price it at market value. If you want to "feel" the market, price a little high - We're all big kids, we'll know if it's a 'feeler' or not.

* Do not post your classified ad with ONLY a link to another classifieds web site. (examples: KSL, Ebay, etc...) Post your same info here on RME, otherwise your ad will be deleted.

* Do Not post negative commentary in another person's ad. If you don't like how the item is priced or you purposely give a low-ball offer out of spite, you will receive an infraction or be banned.

* DO NOT ACT AS THE PRICE POLICE. This pertains to the rule above. If you feel that the seller is posting an item or items at an unfair price, do not buy it! Do not post in their ad that you feel the price is too high, or that you can get the same item cheaper somewhere else. Handle your debate via email or Private Messaging and not publicly. If you don’t like the price, don't buy it!

Commercial Entities: * Any commercial Ads will be deleted. The RME classifieds is a non-commercial zone. If you have a Vendor Account on RME, you may use the Vendor Forums for commercial proceedings. * Commercial Entities MAY sell USED parts in the classifieds (exemption to above rule), but may not sell new parts in the classifieds.
