Toyota Front Bumper in the works =)

Started working on a front tube bumper today. It was kind of fun to get the bender out and working again. I plan on adding a couple supports from the factory mounts up to the ends. The body lift is going away in the next few days so it will line up a lot better. Let me know what you think.

Looking good but keep in mind that Utah law requires the bumper to extend to the edge of the body (which it looks like you have done) and has to be at least 4.5" tall all the way to the edge of the bumper. Mine isn't built legally and one day it might get me in trouble like others on this forum.

Thanks for the info on the legalities; I am going to have to rethink a couple things. Any thoughts on turn signals? I was going to mount some from a street bike.

Technically the bumper with must "extend no less than the width of the respective wheel track distance"

Utah 41-6a-1632

And wheel track is defined as the distance of the center of one wheel to the center of the other. It most cases if the bumper was as wide as the body it maybe longer than required.

I think I have the turn signal thing figured out and as soon as I find my camera ill post up some more pictures. I still have the Patrol. I tried to sell it a while back but I am beginning to thing I’m the only one that can appreciate such a unique vehicle (read: dumb enough to own one). I hope to have the fab skills to finish it one day. It scares e to build something that might kill me and the kids. I have been toying with the idea of putting it on a Scout frame and running gear. Rusted, thanks for the legal link. That information helps. I can only imaging the amount of crap I would have gotten on Pirate or other boards.

Extends no less means that it can't be shorter than the wheel track. It doesn't say that it can't be 10 feet wide. Thats the way I understood it.

The ghetto fab turn signal housings:
2 Led marker lights
2 chain link poll tops
2 2 1/2 " to 2 1/4 j-box reducers
some pro seal
2 3/8" bolts
2 7.5 ohm 25 amp resistors
