Wanted GM NP231 transfercase

On the hunt for a 231 to swap into my Astro to convert it from AWD to 4x4. I believe, but I may be wrong, the Jeep version is slightly different than the GM version somehow, unless anybody knows for sure if they’re identical?

Anyways, I’m need of one if anybody know if anything. Thanks.

231c is slightly different look for one out of an S10 Blazer or S10 pickup. Bravada's have the same all-wheel drive transfer case as what you have.
I was thinking that. I went and searched pull n save here in Springville, all I could find was electric shift 233’s. Which could in theory work if I convert it to cable shift. Kinda hoping to find a 231 though to have a neutral position, the 233 doesn’t have that.

In theory you could use a 231j and just swap the input shafts. (the input shaft though on a 231j is usually 23 spline) whereas your 4L60E output is probably 27th spline.
More work than it's probably worth considering 231C's are almost just as common.

The GM 231s mount to the transmission/adapter with 5 studs, and the Jeep 231s mount with 6. The entire front case is different. Internals should be largely interchangeable AFAIK.

the 4l60E is a 27 spline output round 6 mount. Why not just got to the junkyard and pull any Tcase from an IFS chevy 1500 truck? Preferably an NP241.
