Our General Principles

We expect that all members of RME will behave in a way that’s conducive to the diversity, intelligence and respectfulness of the community. Each of these three general principles is fundamental to the quality of our site.

Diversity... We’re a community from different backgrounds and with different perspectives on sports and life. At all times, we expect our members to respect that.

Intelligence... We’re a community with quality standards and expect our members will make a sincere effort to contribute their thoughts on interesting subjects in a meaningful and respectful manner. Posting messages and otherwise interacting on RME is completely optional; many members often prefer to just read what others have to say. But if you do post, we expect that you’ll be respectful of the time of others by posting meaningfully.

Respectfulness... We expect our member to show respect for others. Respecting their person, their views, their time and their opinions ... even if you disagree with them.

Basic Guidelines

The following eight categories of online conduct are unacceptable at RME and constitute a violation of our Community Standards which may result in warning, suspension or loss of membership:

Harrassment... Harassment occurs when a member insults, attacks, and denigrates another member at any time. We have zero tolerance for taking an argument about a any topic to a personal level. For instance, the use of terms such as "idiot, moron, stupid" and other derogatory terms constitutes harassment. Repeated critical and sharply negative posts toward a forum member can also constitute harassment.

Disruption... Posts which intend to disrupt the topic of conversation or steer the topic away from the focus of the forum and related news. Disruption can include harassment, multiple posting of the same post and posting completely off topic messages.

Vulgarity and Sexual Explicitness... As a community with a diverse variety of members and readers, we ask that our members to post without using vulgarity. Vulgarity not only includes vulgar language and pictures but also sexist, racist, anti-religious and homophobic language which may offend other members. In addition, the "masking" of vulgarity by inserting * or another keystroke in place of one or more letters in a vulgar term is unacceptable in most cases. We realize that there's a "grey area" of judgement with vulgarity but we ask that you'll respect others by avoiding vulgarity.

Solicitation... Refrain from using RME to advertise your site, non-4x4 items 'For Sale', commercial sales & services or website. You may attach a short link to your site within your profile. There's a Forum for specifically for Shops, 'The Vendors Forum.' Finally, if you have a Site you would like to submitted for the 'Links' forum, contact me.

Spamming... Spamming is the multiple posting of an identical or similar post on one or more of our Forums. All Spam will be deleted.

Copyrighted Material... You may post links to appropriate articles but posting articles from other sources in their entirety is a violation of our Community Standards. Use your best judgement, since you agree in the Terms of Use to be held legally responsible for your own posts on this system, but if you must repost quotes or sentences, please credit the source.

Rating Level... This is a family oriented forum. Keep all Pictures, Links, Attachments, Conversations and Language at a PG-13 level. Anything beyond PG-13 will be deleted!

Images in Avatars & Signatures... No 'girly' pics will be tollerated in Avatars. Keep your Avatars related to wheelin'. Because of recent abuse, signature Images are currently not allowed at this time.

Rules pertaining to 4x4 Shops & Businesses-

*Commercial ads belong in the Vendors Forums, please keep your posts offering parts or services in the correct forum.

*Commercial Ads posted outside the Vendors Forum will be deleted! There are a many members of RME representing local 4x4 shops. We do not allow posts offering 'custom work' or parts, unless a member asks for help, your shop can provide the work or part and you are a paying vendor.

* Paying Vendors are permited and encouraged to post vehicle build-up threads outside of the Vendors Forums.

If you have questions about 4x4 Shops and Advertising, PM or Email me.

Again, any disregard to the Guidelines and Principles of Rocky Mountain Extreme.com may result in the Suspension or Banning of your Membership. Please, think before you Post!

Please bear in mind that these are only guidelines; there is always a "grey area" and we understand that. Use your best judgment, as we will use ours. If you have any questions, I will be more than happy to answer them. Thank you for your time and willingness to contribute and I'll see you on the Trail!
