Help with a 97 Landcruiser

My grandson just bought a 97 Landcruiser. It has a ticking sound that increases with the rpm's increasing. It seems to be coming from the top front of the engine. I'm pretty sure it's not coming from the bottom end. We are looking for a good Landcruiser mechanic that can diagnose and hopefully repair it. Any suggestions for a mechanic? Does this sound like something common to the straight 6 engine in the Landcruiser?
