How to register/license a home-built utility trailer

Anyone have any knowledge on how to do this? I assume if I were to buy a trailer, I would need a receipt to show value of the trailer, but what if I build the trailer from scrap parts I have lying around that I didn't have to pay for?

How big is the trailer? When i made mine i didn't have to have it registered because it was under a certain weight (that is what i was told) My trailer was a 8X12 dual axels and it was a pretty heavy trailer. But this is what i was told i could be wrong but i never got pulled over for it.

That's good news. The trailer I am building is only about 5' x 7'. Single axle. I estimate the weight to be only about 500 to 600 lbs. If your trailer is below the weight limit, then mine definitely will be I would think.

The limit is 750 pounds.
