I don't know. The video with the creepy girl at the link seems to show it getting much hotter than I remember MRE heat packs getting, but I haven't played with one of those in a while.

MRE packs can get quite hot if used right. Most people put to much water in them which makes them not get very hot. Also the newer "tan" MRE's have much better heaters than the old "brown" ones

Do they get old, do you know? I think I saw MRE heater backs in the bulk section at Winco, but if there's a due date I'm certain they're past it.

The cases of MRE's I have are pushing 10 years old, I ate one this summer and heater worked great.
