I drilled 298 5/8" holes with an annular cutter in my mag drill on my table top for jigs and fixtures. Its a 3'x6'x3/4" table. So far i have made me 4 adjustable clamps that drop into the holes. Ive had the rec tubing for a while to make a scissor lift frame for it for building chassis at ride height and then be able to get it to a comfortable working height. I should probably get around to that.

This is my "Clean" fab table. Its 65"x37" all cast iron flat as can be with the old school planner marks still in it. That little table weighs 1000lbs (we weighed it). I pretty much only tig weld with it or draw on it. I dont let anything oily ever touch it. Its full of ribbing underneath to keep it strong and flat. I have needed to clamp down some aluminum projects a few times and have simply drilled and tapped a 3/8 hole in it in a few spots.

I found it in a factory in a back storage room under about an 1/2 inch of dry wall dust, i got two of them but the second one had been severely abused.

If you're wondering what to get me for Xmas...

I don't need the folding aspect, but the design and function is pretty sweet.

Have Carl plasma cut you one out. I could of plasma cut mine but i knew hole quality would of suffered peircing 3/4". I bought a sheet of peg board to precisely lay out my holes.

The guy in that video used 3/16"...so that would be a LOT easier. :) I don't know how well some of the fixtures would hold into 3/16" though? Might be just fine, I can't know.

I think all the Certiflat tables are just 1/4" and every body seems to love/use them. There is enough bracing under them to keep them flat and hold the weight with out bowing. As far as clamping and jigging im sure they work fine for new fabbery. I dont think they would be too good if your trying to heat and beat some big piece of equipment on them.
