So my LJ has the WJ front brakes calipers that stop that beast really quickly even with 35 inch tires! but now I have my JK and its a crapshoot trying to stop that thing and its only on stock tires. So what is everyone doing to upgrade the brakes on the JK?

Looking to get drilled and slotted rotors and some EBC brake pads but dont think that is really going to make that big a difference.

Larger diameter rotors with brackets that relocate stock calipers help if you don't want to upgrade your master cylinder. You can get slotted or non-slotted

If you don't mind upgrading then you can add a larger bore master cylinder and bigger calipers. You can get slotted or non-slotted.

Your JK should stop fairly well especially on stock tires. Are you sure the brake system is up to snuff? It'd be wise to have a known solid baseline before spending a bunch of money on something that may not fix your issue.

I am currently running the Teraflex Big Brake kit with the larger rotors and new dual piston calipers on the front. I chose to go with the slotted rotors. I also installed the big bore master cylinder after the brake install because the pedal had a bit more travel due to the larger volume of the front calipers. The thing stops on a dime with the 35's and I'm expecting no difference with my 37's once I get them installed.

I really didn't think it was that bad with the 35's but I guess I was just used to them as I drove it for 90k miles with the OEM brakes and 35's but wanted to improve the braking a bit because I knew I was going to 37's. I was surprised how much better they were even on the 35's so I think they are definitely a worth while investment.

Best bang for the buck- throw the MC and booster from the J8 in it. Bigger bore and cheaper then tera's. Its a pain to get in there but it does fit. If you're running a manual like me you'll need an aux res for the clutch. I use a little one from a sxs.
