Trip Report Moab Rocktober 2019

Good weekend down in Moab. The weather was great, the trails we ran were not too crowded, and we made it back in one piece. We had a small group this year, just Herzog and his wife and my son and I. We ran Pritchett Friday and Rusty nail Saturday.

Took a weird line on Chewie and got a little tug at the top

On the way back down is when it got interesting. I came down off of a ledge into a big hole and....






I broke the welds on the lower coilover mount and bent up the UCA at the heim. It didn't really do any severe damage though. Pulled the shock, did my best to straighten out the control arm and we slowly headed back down to the trail head. I want to give a big shout out to Herzog. Not only has be basically been my guide through Moab over the last few trips, he has patiently waited for me as I work out all the weak links in my rig. Thanks man!

Saturday morning Dixie4x4 got me in first thing and welded the rig back up so we could hit the trail again. I was back on the trailer by 11am and headed to Rusty nail.

We had no real issues to speak of Sat, just a good day of wheeling.

A lot of my photos are more scenic than action, but here we go anyways...

Camped at Kane Springs, paid an arm and leg. But the nights were quiet and it made for a good basecamp

Rusty Nail! It's been a while since I've been over here. It was good to run it again, and a good reminder of how bumpy and long Gold Bar is, haha
