It does look attachments are defaulting to thumbnails. Is there a way to have them default to full size?

It's probably an option, I'll see if I can find and change it.

You can pick whether to insert thumbnail or full image in the while still editing.

I tried a pic from SEMA and it said file too large, but haven't tried any others or messed with it any further yet.

Hmm nope. I'll have to play with it some more to figure out how to upload directly from my phone. Tried a few different pic types/screenshots/saved photos etc. they all say file too large.

Its got to be a file size restriction setting. A full resolution picture from a new smart phone can be over 3 megs which is pretty big. Try adjusting down the pic quality on your phone until it'll accept the file.
