This was sent out on the zuki-tech weblist. I have heard inklings about new stuff going on in this area. sounds great!! This area will be on my list to play on starting the 20th of this month, who is gonna join me??

Just thought I'd let eveybody know (especially those that are coming to Moab
at Easter) that we have a new LEGAL play area in Moab! The new owner of the
tram that goes up onto Moab Rim owns about 160 acres of land (in fact the
Rim trail goes through his property, from just past the Z-Turn to the top).
This guy is creating a bunch of new downhill mountain bike trails, hiking
trails, and a new hard-core open area for rockcrawlers! He's trying to put
together a rockcrawling competition for later this spring, and has opened
the area to all 4-wheelers who want to come out and play. I spent a few
hours up there today (I was one of the first 10 or so vehicles ever in the
area), and created a moderate loop. The place has great potential, with
endless possibilities for moderate to extreme obstacles. Once people get in
there and start making some new routes, its gonna be great! So if you are
coming to Moab next month, be sure to set aside a day or two to check it
out.

Cool stuff. RCAA announced that their second event May 22-24 will be held in Moab. I bet it will be at this new "play area".

I've heard talk about this.... For the Rockcrawling event plan, they will be transporting Spectators up by way of the Tram.

Is there a official name for the Area yet?

I got some more info about the Moab comps from the Red Rock 4-Wheelers newsletter. Apparently the RCAA event is going to be held out by the Proving Grounds. The comp at this new area is May 1-3 and apparently is being put on by the land owner.

The owner's name is Scott McFarland. He is calling his tram/property "Moab
Adventure Park" or something like that. He also owns Highpoint Hummer and
ATV Tours (435-259-2972).
He will be hearing from me in a couple of days....gonna hit it on the 20th or the 21st....parker and Ryan are supposed to be down there at the same time, I am gonna call them and check it out...
