On board Air to A/C?

Ok so I have a York (AMC tag) on board air. Getting more like a princess, just going twin cylinder ARB under seat and wondering if I can use said York as my A/C compressor since its already there. I have the rest of the A/C parts. Anyone done this or know what issues I may run into. My understanding the oil system is separate with the York, so I would be trading Air for Freon?

International used a York style compressor with R134a, but really a Sanden style compressor is smoother and works better.
If your current air setup isn't putting oil into the air tank/lines, then the compressor may have been modified to plug the bearing oil passage, which may cause issues when used as part of an AC system.
You'll need to drain and flush the compressor crankcase, and refill with the proper PAG oil for 134a.
