...on a tripod I assume? Do you have the stabilization with the Tamron? I have a Sigma 175-500 without stabilization, and if I'm not on a tripod, it's rather frustrating! lol!

At those focal lengths you should use mirror lock-up as well.

Neither. Handheld, no MLU. Critters rarely cooperate with any of that.
