As it was from when I bought it in Sept of 2006.
First trip to Rattlesnake Jan or Feb of 2007. ZJ is an Upcountry Laredo package, 4.0. Came with aftermarket wheels on 235/75-15s. After ths trip on Rattlesnake, I decided that 2' of lift and 31s would be perfect.
Being a cheap Jeeper, and patient. I picked up a few things passed on by others. 2" budget boost pucks, Tuff Country fixed front lower control arms, and Teraflex adjustable uppers. I did swap in new bushings. So early November 2008, I lifted the ZJ 2" and added 31s. This is as it sits today.
To me, it sat well, drove well, and with the home made lengthened sway bar lengths removed, flexed well.
It was this rock on Rattlesnake that made me decide on my lift originally. And at the 2" lift and 31s, cleared quite readily.
Hey, it's a Jeep, doors are optional, right?
So I said I'm cheap. I'm not really a patient person. But cheap. Over the years I collected a Rubicon Express front adjustable trackbar. Used a Chevy 1 ton balljoint since I didn't get the double shear trackbar bracket. Been through a few inexpensive sets of tires and wheels. Added Detours USA A pillar light brackets but Detours is no longer in business. I also snagged one of their BackBone front winch mounts, but never installed it. I'm missing the hardware and left side brackets now... I picked up a Chrysler 8.25" rear end with 4.10s installed, have a disco front HP D30 with 3.07s, but have a 3.55 and up carrier and 4.10s for "someday". I also snagged a pair of rock sliders for a LJ. For "someday".
Last year I picked up a JK rear bumper with tire carrier for cheap. Rusty, Chinese...
But a good width, the tire carrier pin and latch are in the way of the hach though. I cut them off.
Affordable Offroad rear bumper tie ins were inexpensive. I needed to make my own 1/4" plate mounts for the bumper.
Fits OK, but not done with it. Need to fab something for the sides. And considering a tire swing for the receiver hitch. While I used my HiLift jack to lift the ZJ from that hitch, I need to reinforce it. It's meant to be bolted to the rear crossmember of the JK. SO I need to add material to inside of the bumper if I want to tow. I also have flush mount LEDs for back up lights.
I recently scored a JK front bumper for $100...
Despite the branding, it is a Poison Spyder Brawler full width bumper. Never installed.
