So, I watched World War Z last night on Hulu. Before starting the movie I watched the trailer which shows a scene where Brad Pitt’s character asks another character how he can get to Russia. The other character replies that Russia is a black hole. As I’m watching the movie and this particular scene comes around Russia has now been edited to become India.

Apparently we’re playing the “speak no evil” game now. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Yup, that was a pretty common story. And not unprecedented. For example the British Army and Territorials trained with wooden guns (or broomsticks!) after Dunkirk because they left so much equipment behind in Europe and every available live weapon was heading to North Africa at the time. US forces also trained with wooden guns leading up to and right after our entry into WWII because we didn't have enough real ones for new recruits.
But those are known facts. As Cody said, we ain't here for that stupid stuff! We're here for wild unsubstantiated claims thrown about in the echo chambers of the internet!

I posted a meme in the 'lighten the mood' thread, that Alec Baldwin was being deployed to the Ukraine. I don't believe for one second he actually will be.

Everyone knows he limits his killing to movie sets.

No, I'm just saying some people are too quick to go from a picture to a conspiracy and disseminate it down stream to a bunch of other people who want to believe that narrative and don't care to know the truth.

Using that picture is just lazy journalism to me, and is in no way any more misleading than the meme sent around the internet trying to use it as fuel for their space laser.

None of us are going find the truth about all this crap until much later. Right now it's propaganda and war drums. That's my only point.

Ukraine government has now back tracked on the report of the soldiers on Snake Island being killed. They're now saying they were all captured by the Russian military. This is exactly the reason we shouldn't make moves based on our emotions. The story ALWAYS changes if we wait a bit.

I think that's actually how the stock market is supposed to work. Speculative investors buying/selling based on what they think is going to happen. Of course defense stocks are up. A lot of oil companies are down. My solar stocks are up. It's a mixed bag out there from what I can see... But inevitably someone is going to get rich off of any military spending.
