@Tonkaman I've felt the same way for + years. I just haven't MADE the time do it with my kids, and with one, I fear it has past time to an extent.

It’s a coping jig for the C channel for 90° joints. Trace the line, chop the corners.

Figured I’d mess around and try out a simple one for a tube notch. This one would work for a 90° cope on 1.75” OD tubing. Pretty much any angle or configuration (3 intersecting tubes etc) could be modeled in to the jig and printed out, if ever cutting more than one or two of the copes I would think it could make it worth it.

I think a set of these (90°, 45°, 60°, 30° etc) would possibly even be appealing as something to make and sell. It would even be pretty easy to inscribe text into the side of the pattern, like tube size and notch angle.

Somewhere I have a bunch of tube copping guide files I downloaded from grabcad or thingyverse. Definetly will be handy when I get to that point.

Wide square. Printed out of ASA so it has a lot better properties for being able to be used/left outside. Shouldn’t warp with heat from the sun and should be UV stable. Shouldn’t turn all white, chalky and brittle like PLA when left in UV and elements.

31 hours into this print, and 92% done.

And I printed another square. This one with the 3 main corners cut back quite a ways.

Edit, finished. Almost 33 and a half hours. My longest single print yet.

And just started on its other half this morning. Another 33 hours to go!

Wanted to repaint the wheels that came on my Focus, without too much investment.

Before;


I’m really not a fan of painting over old loose paint, so a cheap spot blaster and some glass bead media from Amazon.




One wheel is about 1/2 a box of this material, which is about 4-5 hoppers full of the spot blaster. In other words each wheel took about $10 of media and maybe 30 minutes? No need to mask off the rubber for blasting of course.
