From what I have read this seems to be one of the best on the market. Expensive yes but cheaper than a new trailer. The link is for the bulldog coupler.

These proven locks might be an alternative. Shouldn't be to hard to make either. You an buy the lock separately.

These look pretty good as well.

Of course if someone wants your trailer bad enough they will get it with enough time and the right tools.

That's some good info, Troy. I already had ordered the locks I now have, otherwise I might have gotten (or copied) one of those. I'll give these a try and hope they deter other thieves.

The hitch lock I got is the Trimax one Coco recommended. Similar style to the Gorilla one I had before, but: The hasp latches on both legs instead of just one, and the hasp itself is thicker steel, and hardened. Without measuring, I'd guess my old one was 1/2" diameter, this is more like 9/16". It also fits tighter to the hitch, so it might be slightly more difficult to get bolt cutters on it.

The Chinese parking boot is about what I expected. Fit and finish aren't awesome, but it's fully functional. I put some grease on the threaded part that adjusts the clamp, it came dry and already starting to rust. Grease made it operate much more smoothly.

3 more boots and I think you have something.

I agree with jeeper. Just seeing the boot will probably be enough to stop most thieves.

Fabrication and me won't be getting along for a while unfortunately.

I saw that stuff. Take a breather for a bit, but keep doing stuff if you want to. Just do it for YOU, not for someone else. Do it if it makes you happy, don't feel obligated to do it.
