Any one know where i can get a temp guage for my YJ. I stopped at Catrubus (sp), and they want 150.00 for the guage, the ones from auto zone or pep boys ect dont fit in the engine block. I am really wanting to replace this but I really dont want to pay the 150.00 for the OEM replacement.

It's probably you temp sending unit. It's at the back of your motor on top of the head. It's not in the thermostat housing, that one is for the computer. They are famous for going out in 4.0 motors. Otherwise, check a junkyard for a gauge

But yah clean tub, title, and frame......

I will make a better deal if I get a wrecked one in exchange....

I am not sure on the 4.0s but when I had a 4.2 in my 84 there was a water pasage hole on the drivers side of the head (just look for a plug in the head). I used a autometer mechanical temp guage with it. It worked great. The factory electrical guages with the senders are never very accurate.
