So sold off the orange mayhem machine and have begun a new adventure! We're aiming for short, tight, light, powerful, capable, creative and most important - simple.

When I state I want it simple, I mean simple. Not extra nonsense, unnecessary wiring etc. I want all the parts easily accessible in case of carnage. The only custom piece to this will be the rear axle which I will explain shortly. The rest of it will be either junk yard-able, parts store, or easily interwebs order-able.

For the drivetrain We're going with the tried and true 5.3 Truck motor, Turbo400 HD, NWF EcoBox, Ford 205, 1410 drivelines, super 60 for the front, super 14bolt rear.

Went with the ecobox kit after seeing it in action on our buddy Brian's bronco 2 (as seen here on rme4x4) and it takes abuse with a couple big advantages like being quicker to get than an atlas or hero, damn near half the cost, and it offers more gear ratios.

Now the front super 60 axle the plans for now are to just weld up the carrier, shove 1550 shafts in it, keep my 1480s for spares, run the factory hubs which have proven to be quite the abuse takers, cut the shit out of the brackets, simple truss, Cory's MFL Ram mount and diff cover, BKO Ball joint eliminators, yukon 5.38 r&p and then eventually gut the internals for 40spline crud in n out to the flanges.

Rear axle is a ribbed 14bolt that will be cut up and fitted with super 60 C's, knuckles, BKO Ball joint eliminators, ECS Chromo 40 spline inners and outer shafts, branik 1550 joints, wide open design 40 spline spool, 5.38 yukon r&p plus rebuild kit, crane axle shafts seals, MFL Cover - Truss - Pinion Shovel and ram mount, Shaved bottom bolt with leaf spring skid welded on, all that to earn the name of super rear steering 14bolt.

Chassis is still being doodled in my cranium, need to put pen to paper one of these days and laying down an actual design, on thing is half certain at least, and that it will be either Dom with chromoly stringers or full chromoly.

Steering will be psc rams, 3x9s, with a radial dynamics electric rear steer valve controlled by a Mr. Latham direction & RTC kit. Probably go with another 250ml orbital like my last rig, it had good flow and response with the rams. For a pump I need to do my research and make some calls before I settle in on one. My last rig had a modified P pump that flowed great and didn't give me any problems, just felt like it need to move fluid a little quicker.

Suspension wise I'm looking at a double triangulated setup with fox 2.5x16s on all four with aluminum lowers and Chromoly uppers.

Wheels and tires are gonna be 42inch comp treps on raceline Avenger beadlocks which I plan to have powder coated matte gold and leave the rings polished since the wheels I wanted from method are discontinued.

Anywho on to the next post for pics of the random junk that's piling up at corys shop.

So here's some of the garbage.

Acquired two super 60s from our secret collection personnel.

Here's my box of axle nonsense. Fun story, ordered my 14bolts r&p from Amazon and they sent me a 600 dollar puller instead, our friend Geoff ordered me gears in trade for the puller which will still be at our disposal. So for now there's the 60 r&p, 14b rebuild kit, yokes, and bj eliminators

I could get it from Clinton to Camp Williams for tomorrow's festivities if needed. I'd be surprised if your boss isn't in a red GSA making the drive south that day if you are lucky enough to be staying home.

I could easily drive that after work, just messaged him about it, thank yall for finding that!

Here's some updates on the parts side of things.
*branik joints and drive flanges showed
*40 spline stubs
*1550 upgrade shafts for the front
*14bolt yukon 5.38 gears
* 1410 tcase yokes
*40 spline 14b spool from WOD
*crane 14b axle seals for 40spline shafts
*04 lm4 aluminum 5.3
*sidewinder th400 reverse pattern shifter

And here's pics or it didn't happen right

The loveable tike LM4 5.3, now these guys aren't the most desirable in some years cause they had the variable valve timing crap etc. Thankfully this one is old enough to not have that. It's basically just an aluminum truck motor with a crazy oil pan that the trailblazer diff passes through

And now for some actual work progress!

Started molesting the 14bolt! Well now 13 bolt 👌 marked out to the spindle welds for slicing, this will give us room to machine and get the proper width for each side so the shafts can be equal length once we get everything set. Also while ory was plasing away and showing me some tips n tricks to cutting he took all the old pads n crud off. And after wards I marked out the shave line and he blasted off the bottom chunk turning it into a true 13bolt. Plan here is to add a 1/4" plate to the housing to patch it together then throw on a layer of leaf spring. Thankfully this housing turned out to have the 1/2" wall tubes which eases my mind on running a small truss even though I'm not exactly planning to beat this like an ultra4 to the point the C's or tubes bend but hey ya never know.
