Transfer case issue

I have a 2010 wrangler 2 door. Today coming back from behind Francis peak, I could not get it out of 4 low. The shift lever feels like it"s not attached to anything. I can shift it back and fourth without the transmission in neutral. Not engaging anything at all. Any ideas? It was a long drive home to Layton at 20 mph.

That's a common failure point on JK's, the clip on the cable wears out and eventually falls off. You can buy replacement parts for cheap, but the work takes some time. I carry new clips in my JK, just in case!
