GMC / Chevy USA standard ring and pinion

Does anyone have anything bad to say about USA standards gearing? other than the noise, which the company advertises. Any common weakness compaired to a Yukon set?

I have an 80'ish 3/4 ton D 44 chev front and am thinking about running 5.38s. USA std is the cheapest that i have found. Any scary stories to turn me away?

I broke a set of USA Standards. I wouldn't run them. I would spend the extra money for Yukons. I've set up plenty of gears and the only ones I've ever broke were USA Standards. Just my .02.

I have about 7K miles on mine. no noise as of yet. seam to be doing the trick but not to long of a history either.

ok well i am in iraq for a few more months so i have plenty of time before i order whichever set i get, just sending out a feeler before i have something shipped to my fiance.
still open to more input though, getting pros and cons

it is also a dedicated rock crawler so i dont have to worry about too much road time

so far 1 vs 2
