We were able to get more work done on my son’s WJ winch bumper on Saturday.

We started by clamping each wing to the fab table for knocking down the welds and metal finishing all of the pieces.

After closing up the shop for the day the wife and I decided to go for a drive. We took the truck to stretch its legs and it rolled over 100k miles on the way home.

Kinda silly but I made a coms rack for the tacoma, mainly to get my ScanGauge into a spot that I could easily see since I have the speedometer corrected on it.

The Anker mount on the left is magnetic mount for my phone. The CB mount is temporary until I find a way to lose the ghetto clamp... but it works.

Worked on this boiler today. Old burner had literally exploded and blew out the side.

Yesterday I made an attempt at curing the clunk. Bar pins on the rear Falcons thunk and clunk on the slightest imperfection in the road surface and it's driving me crazy. Every little tar seam or manhole cover or quarter laying in the road - Kunk-Clunk-Thunk. The bar pins are really loose in the bushings, both side to side and up and down.

Have a Harbor Fright E-clip collection on the shelf, and had the bright idea of using them to take the side to side slop out of the bar pins.

That did take all the side to side slop out of them. But didn't help at all. Still driving a clunk-mobile.

Don't like the idea of losing uptravel with BPE's. Seriously considering just putting my old 100k mile Bilstein 5100's back on the rear and putting the Falcons on the shelf - that clunking has taken over space in my head and it's driving me nuts.

Teraflex makes bar pin eliminators that put the pin above the cross member and shouldn't reduce up travel. Not sure if the Falcon will fit.

Hadn't seen those. Tera should know if they'd fit. I'm sure they could be made to fit. Or something like them made that would fit.

Not sure if I want to mess with BPE's or not. I might actually be able to get the bar pins out without ruining the bushings - they're pretty loose. Tera should have spent another dollar each and used vulcanized bar pins like every other even half assed decent bar pin shock in the world. But, if the bushings are ruined, and replaced, ehhh... I don't know. If I end up getting rid of the shocks it might be better to leave them unmolested.

Edit to add... I'm not absolutely 100% positive it's the bar pins clunking. I am positive it's the shocks, both of them, clunking goes away with them off and comes back with either one put back on. It sure sounds like the bar pins to me, and they are loose as a goose, but it could possibly be another component of the shock I suppose.
