We made short work of the tube repair and now it's even better. He now has a 19" tube in the rear.

I think those stock tubes in the Beta were junk. At least the front was fast. Who did it quicker? Me or Russ? (Once we got the parts).

Fronts are much easier than rears, no powder or soapy water but I pretty efficient with it

I just did a new rear Galfer rear rotor and EBC red pads.
I got into some mud and wet sand and trashed the stock rear rotor.



Slapped on some clear fuel line and a filter too.

Repacked my silencer the other day. What a messy job, I've found something about my 2 stroke I like less than 4 strokes... much less.

New top end time. Namura Hypereutectic piston kit at Donnie's recommendation. Didn't have any compression loss just preventative maintenance. Repacked the starter gears with grease. New plug.
New Jetting: Nbrh needle 2 position. Air Screw 2 turns out. 170 main. 35 idle. 1.5 turns out idle screw.



Just a little carbon deposit. But not bad.


Reed valve is spotless.

Cleaned the power valve too. It was a little sticky.


This piston is much stronger than stock and lighter too. I can already tell it runs smoother with less vibration.

It must be strange to do a top end on such a new bike. How many hours are on it now?

Bike has 85 hrs. I did almost everything new on it.


I picked up an LED bar, fab'd a mount and wired it up too. Can't wait to do a night ride! Who wants to go?!
It's a combo beam: spot center and flood sides.

That new piston is perdy! Nice addition with the LED light, looks like lots of light for a dark night ride!

I built a mount on the old drz to run dual led bars but ended up going back to a single 7" 55watt hid. More light and half the weight.

I'd say with the new piston, new jetting and slightly thinner bottom gasket the bike has better power and vibrates less than when it was brand new.
I'm very very pleased, and riding at night is SO FUN!
