It does depend on the whiskey. I'm mostly a no ice guy. But, not always. I'll more often cut in a bit of water, without any ice, but again, depending on the whiskey. Some whiskey, no ice, and I have to close my eyes when I take a sip. So I don't see it coming, so my mouth won't water before it hits my palette.

An Old Fashioned ain't an Old Fashioned without a single big chuck of ice. Repost of pictures I already posted in this thread. What can I say, this is a good memory. Despite the fact, it was the evening of the day my rear trackbar and upper control arm bracket tore off my axle just short of the Doll House...

I have finally graduated to sipping good bourbon with no ice, wow what a difference! But that's the thing with Whiskey/bourbon/Scotch/Irish whiskey. They are all different and some are better with ice or cut with some water, others are made to shoot and others sip them neat.
