Who else works every weekend?

The thread about Making Adult Friends got me thinking. I'd like to find more people with similar schedules to go do offroad stuff with. I've been working weekends for over 13 years now. I was hoping I could build enough seniority by now to make the switch to Mon-Fri, but that just hasn't happened and doesn't look like it ever will. I currently have Wed/Thu off most every week.

I work nights, plus do odd jobs and try to work on my own stuff any other non sleeping times. One more year until my full pay step, then maybe I can slack some. But my wife will probably find a use for the money.

I did 7/12 weeks fairly often when I was in the shipyard. My particular skill set and clearance level had me working on active subs at the base as required. Lots of "weld this right here, don't look to the left, don't look to the right, don't walk away from your escorts" sort of stuff. If there was more of that and less stupid bickering politics I probably would have stuck with that job.

I work 6-4:30 M-Th. Best schedule ever. A few years ago one of the other departments (they work rotating shifts) was hiring and the manager asked me about it. I said he would have triple my pay before I'd even consider shift work. It does suck every morning at 4:45 when the alarm starts going off, but the benefits are so worth it.

4:30-6:30 mon-sat. Being self employed is a real bitch sometimes. The upside is once your up the 4:30 is the best time of the day.

I’m know I’m in the minority but I love getting up early. Even on my days I’m not working I’m usually up around 4:30-4:45 to get my workout in.

I’ve got so much flexibility in my schedule. I work 8:30/9:00-4:00 each day and I have every other Friday off (no weekends). I can come and go as I need to, get in when I want to, work remote if I want to, etc. My schedule, the guys that work for me and that I work with, and my office location are what keep me working there.

I still need to figure out what I'm going to be when I grow up in IT? I'm not sure if I want to be a PM but that's kind of a "natural" step. At my current job, I seem to be on call a LOT more than expected. We're trying to spread that around my team but it's something that's not really working and I'll get it figured out.

I work 2 AM to 2 PM 12 hour rotating shift 2 on 2 off 3 on 2 off 2 on 3 off so every other Friday Saturday Sunday is a three day weekend. Next week I only work on Wednesday and Thursday. It's not so bad since I only work 15 days a month, oh and it takes me 4 minutes to walk to work.

I worked graveyards/weekends for the last two years and hated it. Then this year I got the chance to snag a 5am-3:30pm Sat.-Tues. shift, which has been nice but I still have a bit of a drive. Last week I was able to get a M-F 10am-6:30pm shift at a different shop location only 7 minutes from my house. The commute will be so much nicer, but I really wonder if going back to 5/8 schedule is worth it. I loved 4/10 work weeks.
