Here's the deal. We're not against higher wages, if you earn it. But don't expect to make a career out of flipping burgers. That's a STARTER job. You learn skills, move on and up. We really should start shaming people who flip burgers as a "career".

The main problem is laziness. People want the high pay with low effort. Life doesn't work that way.
I don't think I am the only one who would say that hard work does not always equal higher pay.

There are a lot of lower wage jobs that require a heck of a lot of hard work and effort.

The one other thing that is interesting is that it is largely the market, not government mandates, driving higher pay, as shown by federal and thus Utah minimum wages being unchanged for years but pay increasing.

That is exactly what conservatives normally support.

As to the debate my comment on electric cars generated, I will again point out all I said was that gas prices are more variable than are electricity rates. Other advantages/disadvantages of EV has nothing to do with my comment.

Passed through Millard today. This row of tanks loaded up on the train stretched as far as we could see.

Is this sort of thing normal or are we quietly mobilizing?
