dont do it without changing the crush sleeve on on your pinion itself. if you dont, it will not put the proper preload on the bearings and they will wear faster than usual. i speak from experience. the crush sleeve is one time use without pulling it and replacing it or straightening it out and re-torqueing it. mine lasted about 5 months and i just grabbed a front diff out of a wrecking yard, changed out the side gears and popped it in the rear.
