The Park Ranger said that everyone needs flags but is not concerned as much with what color they are .This is something we had just found out about .We do have flags here that will sell for $10.00 so dont stress if you cant find one .They will be available at registration Thanks for your understanding Steve!:)

Flags??? Like a flag I would put on my ATV at the sand dunes?

Also, didn't I read that there will be a pre-registration on Thursday?

Checked BLM info about flags earlier. They say flags need to be 8' from the ground, so putting a flag on your CB antenna should be fine if it's tall enough.

Will I need to bring some kind of stick or attaching device to tie the flag to. My CB antenna is short. I can come up with something to attach to if I need to.

What Park Ranger? Sand Hollow or BLM?
If all trails are going in through the state park then that is understandable. I was not aware that we needed them to access it through the Washington dam staging area. It seem rash to make everyone have a flag. Have you checked with the BLM ranger that is over that area. Once you are off of the sand dunes the Sand Hollow rangers do not patrol the slip lock, johns trail, west rim, Maze, Warner valley or the Honeymoon trail. Just some thoughts. Seem ridiculous to require flags especially on the Warner Valley and Honeymoon. Just some thoughts.

The State Park Rangers have full jurisdiction all the way to the staging area Del and I have both been in Contact with the Blm and the State Park and the BLM have made an agreement to have the Park Rangers patrol the area from the sand dunes all the way to the staging area it sucks but it is a fact that they have already been giving tickets .So please have a flag we dont want to give them an excuse to give us any tickets Thanks Steve!

same here. my wife and I will make this an annual tradition. Thank you Steve and everyone else who made this happen, we had a blast!

On a side note, I had the winning scratch card for the car, but I scratched the wrong 5 squares. Since my ticket wasn't a winner, I scratched them all off, only to find 5 similar squares. Luck wasn't on my side that day. I just wanted everyone to know there actually was a winning ticket, and you can blame me for picking the wrong 5 squares.

Thanks again!

I did the same and had five winning pictures as well on all three of the cards I had. I think the lottery is based on the probability of anyone scratching the right five. There's amazing odds against picking five in a row correctly. (still fun, though--would have been cool to see someone win the Jeep)

good, that makes me feel better knowing I wasn't the only one who was unlucky. I was going to calculate the probability, but I forgot how to do that. It's been a while since I took math.

I was informed that is was approx.50,000 to 1

odds to win jeep was 1 in 6,375,600. less that winning the powerball lottery.

But every card was a potential winner and from what i have heard most people verified this was fact .But i agree that next year will be different .:)
