Target Shooting in UT

Does anyone know some place close to go targer shooting in Northern UT? I use to go behind Utah lake, Someone told me its illegal to go there now. But I havent heard. Just looking to out close with the family to an open area and go target shooting. anyone have some ideas?

So anything that is not in the Dark Purple is open for target shooting? So the place behind Utah Lake is accessible?

I haven't heard of any closures. Are you talking about the place with the sign that says target range about 10 miles from the Smiths?

Also the shells. That bugs the crap out of me to see all of the shells everywhere when people are done shooting.

Drove past the west side of utah lake last weekend and there were people out there. I have also been to the second grantsville exit then turn north, drive to the mountain.

Redneck hill (the area I think you are talking about) is still open if you don't mind being around a million other shooters. There is an area south of that but before 12 mile, that's recently been posted closed to all motorized traffic.

Never heard it called that but for some reason it fits.

Yea there was about 8 vehicles there when I drove by around 7pm.
