I believe I may have had the same issue initially. I think it had something to do with where the maps were downloaded (sd card vs internal memory). BCN was pointed to the wrong location.
I run the Samsung Galaxy Tab as well, I think you made a good choice. I have been running backcountry navigator with the AccuTerra maps. The AccuTerra maps run 19.95 a year.

Out of the way as far as passenger and driver. It does block your vents and radio though. Built in charger hardwired to Jeep. I haven't had any issues with the mount or tablet being loose.

I ran it for a long time without the Garmin Glo. I was just using the tablets built in GPS. It worked, but very slow to pick up satellites...
Another vote for stripe. It has been a while since I last looked into it, but most were 3% and .30 per transaction. Check on when they make deposits. I believe square is the next business day. Stripe is on a rolling 7 day schedule.
