So there are diffrent bellhosings?

I had to replace the pilot bushing because the one on the 454 was too small so i bought a new one and we test fitted it before we put it in so i know that it will fit. There are no wiring or hoses to fall behind it I yanked all of it out and haven't got the new harness in yet.

That is what i thought butt it will not slide all the way together there is about a 1/4 of an inch gap between the two. What would be holding it up?

So I have a 1976 k20 with a standard tranny that im putting a new 454 in and my question is. Is the bell hosing for a 350(because that is what it originally had) smaller than a bell hosing for a 454. because for some reason they wont butt together so I can bolt them up. Any thoughts.

mine did the same thing on a 89 and 91 and both times it was the cps.
