Trailer axles are fine. Trailer springs are short and stiff. Think why are truck leaf springs long, eye to eye. Trailer leaf springs are short. The longer the spring the smoother the flex. But if you are not doing hard off-road then those would work. You'll need a good drop to clear 33" tires.
Ok my advice for a set up would be not to use "tailer" springs as they are too stiff for off-road use. Do not use torsion axles because they will not hold up to the abuse and the shifting weight load to each axle can cause failure. Trick ideas are airbag and coils with track bars. In my option...

I don't know year. Bed is 42"x73 with a few inches around it. The other bench (bed 2) is 20" x 73. I also have the table and poles for the dinett. A few small holes no real leaks. There's a few things that need work but overall great shape.
The bottom is 37" wide X 87" long x 18" deep so it can fit any small truck. It might stick out back on really short beds but it is light. I have jack stands, an A/C unit and even a dolly you see with big casters to move it around.
I had a dodge 3500 I was going to build a plat form on to clear...
