    GM Gen III

The Jeep I was referring to is a TJ. If you would have carefully read the original post, you might have figured out I was following context, especially since CJs didn't use a computer to run the gauges. In my post above I simply answered the question you asked. I didn't offer an opinion on...

    GM Gen III

The idea is to run the temp and oil senders from the 4.0L in the GM engine. And run the jeep transfer case for the speedo. This way the stock Jeep gauges don't need to be replaced with GM compatible units. The Jeep computer is needed to run these gauges. An adapter between the trans and tc...

    Rangely Women's Rockcrawling Competition

Good point. However, giving directions is difficult. That's why I included contact info. I'll post GPS coordinates tomorrow. How would that work?

    Rangely Women's Rockcrawling Competition

Last year the Rangely Rockcrawlers put a bunch of work into setting up 8 courses complete with cones and judges for the competition. It was nothing crazy and all in good fun. Same this year. Woman drivers only, Cash give away, BBQ dinner. and lots of fun. May 8th. Sign up that morning starting...

Has anyone GPS'd the trails? I'd love to hit Crawlfest but the buggy won't be back together by then.

About to build up a front D60....need some opinions

I'll go with 1995zj on this one. Starting from scratch 8 lug is the only way to go, but if ya already got 5 on 5.5 wheels and alloy axles (semi float) in the rear, it is way cheaper and easier to convert to the same in the front.

About to build up a front D60....need some opinions

I agree, it would be easier to go the Blackbird route, however, that takes all the fun out of it. And even though I screwed up and went with a Ford rotor first rather than the correct CJ7 piece, my cost is going to be way below Blackbird's plate/rotor/hub kit. But in hindsight the best route...

About to build up a front D60....need some opinions

I'm finding out the caliper brackets you buy determines which rotors to use. Do your research first.

About to build up a front D60....need some opinions

Sorry for not being clear. I'm using D44 rotors on D60 hubs. This requires machining the inner diameter of the rotor where it fits over the hub and machining the inner and outer diameter of the hub so the rotor will fit over the inside and the wheel over the outside of the hub. It cost $125 for...

About to build up a front D60....need some opinions

Don't know if this helps but I'm in the process of changing my 8 lug KP to 5 on 5.5. I'm using '79 Ford 1/2 ton rotors and had the rotors and hubs machined to fit ($125). Then I plan on using these brake plates: http://www.partsmike.com/store/store.php?crn=221&rn=1480&action=show_detail. Don't...

    Spline engagement

However it is worth it if I'm going from a HP60 to a standard 60. Since I'm making the change anyhow, I might as well as go for maximum width.

    Spline engagement

You're right on. The "experienced" (not that you aren't) are saying to shoot for 1-1/2" with a minimum of 1-1/4 on 35 spline axles.

    Spline engagement

How many inches of spline engagement between the axle and carrier side gear should there be on a 35 spline D60? I'm going from a HP to a standard housing and would like to make it as wide as possible with the present axles.

    buggies?

Awhile back a 4x4 rolled on 21rd. Another party was outside her vehicle taking pictures and ended up under the vehicle that rolled. The result was a big law suite against the owner of the 4x4 that rolled. A situation like this is why I think its critical to have insurance.
