It also helps you recycle all that awesome normal bacteria you have back into your lungs so you're more likely to get pneumonia, which you are FAR more likely to die from. Science, bitches!

Then why haven't we seen pneumonia cases skyrocket? I know LOTS of people who have to wear masks 8+ hours a day and have for months, not a one of them has had a single case of pneumonia.

Your sample size is too small.
Then where are the news stories of healthcare workers dropping like flies from pneumonia? They've been wearing masks 100% of the time since day one.

To contract pneumonia you have to be exposed to Streptococcus pneumoniae. It can occur on its own.
Among other less common ways, yes. I had pneumonia in conjunction with pleural effusion, it sucked.

Keeping a mask clean, disposing of, washing, and not wearing them when they're wet are all recommendations to keep from getting sick from the mask.
This is common sense. But then, we are talking about the general public here...

What's interesting is that the CDC's recommendations differ from OSHA. I figured we'd move closer toward OSHA's standards when the supply chain was restored and more proper masks were available. This never became the case.

The masks 99.9% of people are wearing aren't protecting them as they imagine.

No, but most people don't need N95 level protection. And really, you only need to be concerned with being in contact with someone for 15+ minutes, in a confined space of less that ~6 feet. So yea, its not really necessary for everyone at the Home Depot to be wearing a mask; but from an administrative perspective its a whole lot easier to say, "Hey look, Joe Lunchpail, put a mask on if your going to be in public." than giving a detailed, specific list of times and places that you need to wear one.

I've noticed over the past two weeks that folks are buying up the TP and food at a high rate like this spring. Thankfully the stores have been rationing/limiting how much folks can buy at once. Our relatives in other states are telling us similar stories. Should have invested in TP and bidet stock...

So what happened to all the hype and conspiracy bs about Hydroxychloroquine?

Many here were arguing that Dr.'s were claiming it really worked....yet Trump shut up about it.....even during/after his Covid diagnosis.....and in fact I don't think that was part of his treatment. So what happened to this miracle drug that was so affective and yet was being withheld from us?

I don't know about you, but a majority of the people closer to me who had it rough because of getting pneumonia after catching the beer virus... your results may vary?

Do you guys ever wonder if a bunch of gear heads on an off-road forum talking COVID cures is like senators talking gun?

Not at all because we are free to talk about it and make our own decisions for our selves (at least we were as of a year ago). We're not dictating to others how to think or live... unlike the "experts" who are obviously still trying to do that.

Seems that anybody with a special interest in big pharma wants to tell you this big scary thing won't go away unless you use their exclusive drugs or vaccine. And I'm not talking about the guy who only had a few hundred dollars related to a company in a mutal fund...

We've already established I'm just a drone, but when I see something like that I'm forced to consider the options and my brain consults it's media-programming to try to decide which probability is most likely.

Possible explanations:
Tests aren't 100% accurate...still...plus the law of independent trials using the average accuracy listed (84-97) for this test (not considering any possibility of human sampling/testing error) = 1 in 100 chance for this outcome. Ok, technically 87 in a 1000, but we're rounding here because it looks better. But, I mean, sample size of 1 doesn't necessarily yield statistically relevant data.

Massive global conspiracy involving 99.9% of doctors, research scientists, politicians on all sides in all countries, media, pharma, and insurance that only the truly woke have been able to definitively sniff out even during times of global social, political, economic, and health crisis. I don't know, but way better than 1% chance. amiright?

There is also a chance Elon Musk is adding fuel to his own private agenda using his platform. Statistically this also seems way less likely than the other two...or at least the second.
