    XJ winch bumper

http://www.dirtboundoffroad.com/extreme-winch-diy-bumper-jeep-cherokee-xj.html Has anybody tried this? I have a 97 XJ that could use this. I'd be interested to hear some opinions on it.

96 ZJ steering box work in 95 ZJ?

I've got a bad steering box on my 95 ZJ, but car-part doesn't indicate that I can use the one off of the 96 ZJ parts car that I have. Does any one know why not?

    axle transplant

I've decided to part out a 96 ZJ V8 rather than fix it..... too little time. Are the axles worth saving? I have a 6 cylinder 95 ZJ and a 97 XJ that are candidates for the transplant. Are these axles likely to be any better than what they have?

    momentary oil pressure loss

I was in my 97 Cherokee 4.0 following the Summit Machine group up AF canyon towards Forest Lake a week or so ago. I got to a place where the road was right by a creek and there was a post that said 194 on it, I think. Just then my oil pressure dropped to zero. I watched it for a second and it...

    off roading in Montana

I've got a friend with a ranch up by stryker, whitefish, and kalispell. Has anyone here done any offroading up there? Or, can anyone point me to a forum with participants from that area?

    XJ bumper with winch

I want to program my plasma cutter to cut out the pieces necessary to build a bumper with a winch holder for an XJ. Does anyone have one on their XJ that I can look at to get some ideas? Someone located in Utah County would be ideal, but I'd travel to Salt Lake to get a look at one, too.

Where to buy XJ parts locally

I was thinking of going on the American Fork Canyon Forest Lake expedition, but my XJ doesn't have skid plates for the oil pan or the transfer case, and it doesn't have rock sliders. I tried to buy some locally today from the Heber outfit, but found out that they seem to have nothing in stock...

    Who makes a good clutch?

I'm replacing the engine in a Cherokee. The clutch looks ok, but I figure I probably should replace it anyway. Who makes a good clutch for use in an offroad cherokee?

Grand or Cherokee: pros and cons

I've got a chance to pick up a 97 Cherokee sport with a bad engine for a reasonable price. It has the following modifications that I know of so far: 32 inch wheels, 4 inch lift, sway bar disconnects, and a cold air intake. The mods were all made by a previous owner. Current owner knows nothing...

trimming a zj bumper for 31s

Anybody know off hand about how much I need to trim on my ZJ bumper to accomodate 31 inch tires? I was thinking a triangular piece about and inch wide at the bottom and maybe 5 inch up. Richard

    harbor freight 3000 lb winch

It's cheap enough. Would it be totally useless on a ZJ?

    97 Cherokee

What's the good, the bad, and the ugly about a 97 Cherokee? I have a chance to pick one up with a bad motor. It's already had a lift kit installed with sway bar disconnects. I also have a 97 Grand Cherokee parts car that had a new crate motor installed in it 3 weeks before it was T-boned by an...

    How to get started?

OK, I put a lift kit on my ZJ, and installed some 31 inch tires. I've also purchased some rock sliders which I will install in the next few weeks. I don't have a bumper and a winch yet, but I think that's probably worth having. I don't have lockers yet, but there are probably trails I can do...

    Beginner question

This is something I should know, but don't. I've got a 4.0 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 130k miles on it. After fixing a few tune problems, the engine runs great. Starts well in cold weather... seems to run well while it's coming up to temp, and runs great when it's heated up to normal temperature...

    ZJ Bumper

I'd like to build a steel bumper with a winch mount for my ZJ. Since I don't have a clue how to design one, I'd like to find a good design somewhere with specs on material thickness and a standard winch mount template. Also, some idea of how to mount it to the standard ZJ frame horns would be...

    Snapon scanners rule!

I'm not really a big Snapon fan. Good stuff obviously, but a little high priced for my tastes. But, I've been having a problem with my 95 ZJ. It's running a little rich and fouling plugs. Since it's a 95, it's OBDI. I haven't had much experience with that... wasn't sure how much you could do...

What do I need to offroad a ZJ?

I keep thinking I'd like to go down to Moab and drive some of those neat trails they have. I even bought a 94 Grand Cherokee to do it with a couple of years ago. It's a 6 cylinder Laredo with an NP231 transfer case. I'd like to have something better than stock, but it doesn't have to be...

How much to get a low miles Jeep 4.0 engine?

A guy I know has a 4.0 engine in a 97 Grand Cherokee that was T-boned by an F350 3 weeks after he installed a crate motor. Says the motor has 300 miles on it. How high should I go for the complete motor including fuel injection computer and wiring?

How to rebuild a 231 transfer case

I have a broken one with good parts. I have another one with a good case but with the wrong output and input configuration. So I will be attempting to move the parts from one to the other. I am looking for a good description of how to do this..... something with a lot of pictures and detailed...

Looking for someone in UT to help me build a ZJ

Someone with experience, that is... I don't have much myself. I do have a good shop facilities including a hoist, welding equipment, and a spray booth. I even have a CNC controlled plasma cutter. Obviously, I can be a good guy to know if you like to work on cars. Up until now, I've...
