I seem to have managed to break my low/reverse band so I might as well do a rebuild when I pull the tranny. I know that the Torqueflite is relatively simple and reliable etc. but I have not been through one before...Has anyone successfully rebuilt these or know a good shop that would? Any help...
Double check that there is no vacuum leak in or near the brake booster (would be accentuated during braking+idle) and check the adjustment and function of both the throttle position sensor and airflow meter. I'll bet your TPS adjustment is off. Good luck!

Lathe access
Thanks for the prompt reply. I am working on an old IHC Travelall that uses bronze bushings to support that axle shafts in the front axle spindles (CLosed knuckle Dana44). They are very thin walled with an OD of 1 1/2" and an ID of 1 3/8". I have some bushings but they need to have...
I am looking for someone who has a lathe (or access to one) for a very small job...I need to have two oil impregnated bronze bushings opened up a little bit. With the right tools, it is probably about a 10 minute job. Can anyone help?
thanks

Wobble?
If you haven't done it already, re-torque your wheel bearings as well. If there is too much play in them, you can get that oscillation started.
Case spreader
Thanks for the feedback. Taking it out wasn't too difficult...the problem is actually with the carrier going back in. I have a tight Dana 44 case with new shims and bearings. The races won't seat fully in case recesses. Any thoughts?
Before I go to the trouble and expense of fabricating a case spreader, does anyone else have one that they would be willing to loan or rent to me for a few hours? I'm working on a Dana44.
thanks

I 'm struggling with a repair...does anyone have a good technique (or tool-like the correct puller) to remove and replace the bearings on a DANA 44 diff carrier without destroying the bearing, shims, or carrier?
thanks,
Paul
