I have a 07 Ford Explorer with just under 100,000 miles. So far its been a great vehicle. Its my wifes dailey driver and our family vehicle. Anyway yesturday we went out shooting out near vernon and went to shift it into 4 low and it took like 4 trys for it to engage. We shot, then went exploring for a while then when I went to shift it back into auto 4x4 it wouldnt shift out of 4 low, it took like 30 trys before it finally shifted out. Im thinking the shift motor is getting weak or stickey because it rarley gets put in 4 low. Wondering if anyone else has had this problem. Thanks for the help.

I helped a friend with an Explorer awhile back (pre-2000 model) and it was a little motor, almost the same as window motor on the side of the t-case. We pulled it apart and cleaned it up as best we could, it seemed to work for about a month, then it did it again but wouldn't go in 4wd at all. Replaced the motor and it worked fine.
