1985 Toyota 22re computer question

I have a 1985 toyota truck with a bad computer. {it got smashed} And I am wondering if I can just find any fuel injected computer and plug it in or if it needs to be the same year or what . Any info on this would be great.

My understanding is yes as long as its 85-88 Truck or 85-89 4 Runner.

Yep, I've used auto computers in manuals and the other way too from different years. Never seen much difference.

i have done the same must be from 85-88 as in 89 they went do diffrent wiring for the 22re
