1987 Toyota Rockcrawler
Everything was kept as much Toyota based as possible for the lightest and strongest combinations.
1985 solid axle and frame for the arch above the axle.
Alcan leaf springs
37” MTR
Dual Bilstein 7100s
ARB front, Detroit rear
5.29s
Dual transfer case
Turbo transmission
35 spline Longfields
Cross over steering
Newer style Toyota vented rotors and stronger calibers
Body has been mostly eliminated. It is a 4-5 seater now.
Fuel cell, battery, air compressor, and air tank are in the back with the spare tire carrier.
The front of the frame has been heavily plated with a tube bumper/winch.
The front end of what remains of the body has been narrowed 11”
The motor has been completely rebuilt with as much performance as the stock computer could handle.
All air passages were opened up, higher compression pistons, larger valves, aggressive wide range cam, steel backed timing chain guides, adjustable cam gear, etc.
This rig has been an ongoing project since I started it approximately 14 years ago and started wheeling it about 13 years ago before the shocks were even on. It still has several projects ongoing but I have always kept it functioning.
I have a flat bed trailer that is the size of the footprint of my truck. It is also set up to haul 5 motorbikes. It has ramps that push in under the bed and slide side to side across the back. It was a complete rebuild and customization of an old trailer. It does need lifted approximately 1" to clear the tires better.
Asking $6,500 for the combo. OBO
