So here is my 98 XJ I thought I was done but looks like i'm back to it. I have cracked the underside of the unibody frame rail at the steering gear. I have a MORE steering box brace and have added spot welds to the rail but alas it still cracked. Here is the complete build up to now.

couple more

So broke off one of the oem bolts at EJS 09' and replaced all of them with some grade 8's. turns out they were just a lil bit to long and it was allowing the box to move. I thought I had cought it early enough but looks like I was wrong. I went and got the correct length bolts. replaced the box with a reman. since I was there and when I pulled off the box the rail was dished in from the box moving around. I repaired this and added additional spot welds. And a MORE steering box brace. Went to Moab for my Birthday and came back with the crack.

Yeah you could say that. lol. I actually saw it bending after that trip and that's when I addded the welds and a brace. I thought I had it taken care of. guess not. He had it was fixed about three days after. He can't stand to have anything looking bad.
