Well the 22r has about 10-20 more HP then the 20r. The 20r came in 82 and older trucks so no efi was made your stuck with a carb. The first style of the 22r came in the late 82 to 84 and they were all carb. You can get the efi off a older celica and it will bolt on.. "Dont waste your time" So look for a 85 and up 22r for the EFI and better HP.
