Anyone a resident 22ret or rte (whatever they are) expert? im needing a little help with mine and well cant figure it out

First it has a high idle prob sometimes it idles anywhere from 1k-1500 in gear and about 900 out makes it a huge pain in the you know what to stop. and sometimes its fine .

Second is it seems to lack power sometimes its great and sometimes it sucks butt !
Changed plugs and wires plugs were ugly had almost a white paste looking crap on em dunno never had any like this before always been carboned up in my other motors.

If theres a white paste you could have a coolant leak, if its more like a white crust your fuel mixture is too lean. You could have clogged injectors but im betting its a sensor. What year is this and does it have any check engine lights?

its an 87 oil is fine like the HG isnt blown. and no CEL's

Hard to stop when not in gear? Maybe a vacuum leak or bad booster

its fine when not in gear to stop prolly bad MC im thinkin i was messin with it lastnight and i believe that now due to the fact that the pedal eventually bleeds and will almost go to the floor As for the turbo i dunno i cant even see it its so far down in there lol .

Yea it is a little at least Its funny tho most call it the RET but under the hood it says rte how weird

Still runs funny tho and im stumpped Any of you know what the timing should be set at ? My sticker is worn off and have no friggin clue . The dumb POS manual says look under the hood LOL
